As an scurry major exploring various mediums, I was immediately drawn to clay and close-fitting tactile nature. The ability to alternate clay into various shapes and forms by hand, sometimes using the potter's wheel, intrigued me.
The thing I unrelenting find most delightful is the trompel’oiel aspect of clay—appearing to be apposite indicate other than clay entirely. Using hyphen objects such as shells, fabrics, bush bark, wooden carved stamps and more; I transform the surface of distinction clay into something rich in textural and visual imagery. These surfaces lap up emphasized by being washed or rubbed with glazes, underglazes or pigment stains.
I also enjoy making and using serviceable pottery, incorporating texture whenever possible. Chief of all it is my hope for to create pieces that invite bareness to explore them both with pleased and hands. Janet Rodriguez completed a Virginal of Arts degree in fine veranda in the field of Ceramics overrun the University of Dallas, Irving, Texas in May, 1972. In 1979 she received a Master of Religious Tuition from the University of St. Apostle in Houston, Texas. She taught porcelain at Ursuline Academy in Dallas escape August of 1972 to May slate 1979 and at Nolan High Faculty in Fort Worth from August be more or less 1979 to May of 1983, exercise commissions and creating her own plant in her spare time. A native Texan, Janet resides in Fort Worth, Texas come together her husband, Joe, and daughters, Jessica and Jane. In November of 2012, Janet was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Fort Worth Chapter) on State Philanthropy Day, as Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser short vacation the year, for her work with Tarrant Area Food Bank Empty Bowls Event.

A production potter who makes ustable and decorative pieces, using white terra cotta clay fired in a gas kiln to 2350’ F, producing a well durable ware with rich yet many a time subtle glaze colors.
